February R.I.P.P.E.D. Rockstar: Let’s Get to Know Bianca Daukei

R.I.P.P.E.D. Family, help us Congratulate Bianca Daukei, for being our February R.I.P.P.E.D. Rockstar!

Bianca is a perfect example that no matter how small, taking those first steps can truly help you achieve your goals. She may have been far from the status of ‘fitness expert’ this time last year, but all it took was a few baby steps on the treadmill to launch a whole new healthy lifestyle.

Learn how she used R.I.P.P.E.D., RUMBLE and healthy dietary habits to lose over 78 pounds, reverse her type 2 diabetes AND reduce her cholesterol!

R.I.P.P.E.D.: What or who got you to your first R.I.P.P.E.D. class?

Bianca: The YMCA class schedule. I’ve had the YMCA membership for over a year and never used it. After a hard talk with my doctor on January 12, 2017 I started walking on a treadmill at first. I couldn’t walk for five minutes on 3.4 speed without losing my breath. After a few days I was able to go longer, got excited and decided it was time to see what the YMCA had to offer.

On Monday, January 23, 2017, I attended my first R.I.P.P.E.D. class ever. My instructor and mentor, Kari Robinson, welcomed me warmly, and said I could do it. I did the whole class modified and thought I was going to die. I wasn’t able to complete a whole song but loved every single minute of it.

R.I.P.P.E.D.:What do you like most about R.I.P.P.E.D.?

Bianca: We get a full body workout. I don’t have a favorite section because they all are my favorite. I do have a love/hate relationship with ‘core’ and ‘power’ though. I hate the process but love the results. I feel completely drained after a class. I know I used up every ounce of energy each time I attend R.I.P.P.E.D.

It makes me stronger, leaner, gives me confidence, and makes me feel I can do anything I set my mind to. I can feel it in my bones. I can feel it in the way I am breathing. I can feel the power everywhere.

R.I.P.P.E.D.:Tell us more about your R.I.P.P.E.D. Family.

Bianca: The R.I.P.P.E.D. family is very welcoming. Starting with my instructor, Kari Robinson. She told me I could do it. She inspired me to become an instructor and one day I hope I’ll be able to give the same love and support to others. The R.I.P.P.E.D. FB page is another world. We get to connect with beautiful people who are all into this program and love everything about it. It is so exciting to travel to places and meet your R.I.P.P.E.D. friends personally. There are no strangers in this community.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: Have you or will you get certified for RUMBLE?

Bianca: I love Rumble too. First I want to be comfortable at teaching R.I.P.P.E.D. before venturing on getting certified in other formats. But yes, getting certified in Rumble is on my list. I love the endurance section in R.I.P.P.E.D. I think it’s amazing that a format was created just for endurance.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: Tell us about your first experience with the R.I.P.P.E.D. 2 Fit Challenge. How has it prepared you for this year’s challenge?

Bianca: Amy Wilson is an amazing coach. The participants are very close and eager to step in and give us support at any time day or night. I had a little trouble figuring out the macros the first time around. I cleaned up my diet and it helped stay set on my goals of getting healthy. However, this time, I am confident I will master the macros.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: Do you have any inspiration for people doing R2F now?

Bianca: I have a few inspirations:

“Trust the process”.

“If man made it, don’t eat it”.

“Whole-foods are the real food.”

“Healthy is a natural state of the body.”

I can go on and on with these my favorite one was, “strive for progress not perfection.”
R.I.P.P.E.D.: You lost 78 pounds last year! How did you do it?
Bianca: Yes, I lost 78 pounds in a year. Not only that, but I also reversed my type 2 diabetes, and reduced my cholesterol and high blood pressure. I no longer take medications for any of those. All of these are unhealthy food related illnesses and if people just take control of their health by eating the right foods they will be able to heal as well.

I went to the YMCA 5 days a week: Monday and Wednesday for R.I.P.P.E.D., Tuesday and Thursday for Zumba and Saturday would be either R.I.P.P.E.D. or Body Pump plus Yoga. Now I do R.I.P.P.E.D. 5 days a week, Rumble 2 days and add Zumba on Monday and Yoga on Saturday. I just love to work out. It became an addiction…the perfect addiction.

There was a big change on my diet as well. I’ve practiced Intermittent Fasting 16/8 for a year now in February. I don’t eat any grains, starch or sugars. I only do fruit, veggies, seeds, nuts and meat. I’m eating meat less and less each time I read more about it, but everything is a work in progress. We can change it, tweak it, try this or that but, in the end, the most important part is to never lose focus of your goals.

We all can agree that Bianca is not only a R.I.P.P.E.D. Rockstar but has crushed her fitness GOALS! Thank you for paying it forward and inspiring our other family members in their fitness journey. We appreciate you sharing your story, especially during R.I.P.P.E.D. 2 Fit season!
