Resist the urge to skip the gym with our resistance exercises! When we created R.I.P.P.E.D., we had our community’s health and fitness at the forefront, which is why serious thought and strategizing went into creating the outline of our classes. R.I.P.P.E.D. is an acronym that stands for Resistance, Interval, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance and Diet. The first five letters are included in our 50-minute classes to cover each muscle group and get your body moving! Here’s why resistance is the first stop in our jam-packed classes of exercise and fun.

What Is Resistance Training?

The name says it all in resistance training. These exercises consist of moves that contract the muscles against external resistance. Whenever you take a R.I.P.P.E.D. class, the only tools you need for resistance training are a set of dumbbells or a resistance band, and you! We make it easy to get in all of the resistance training without a ton of other equipment. Some of the exercises we incorporate into our routine that you can find us grooving to are bicep curls, tricep extensions, and shoulder presses. With resistance training, your arms will be sculpted before we even get to the I!

How Do These Exercises Work?

Resistance exercises were strategically placed at the beginning of our classes to warm up muscles and get the body ready for more cardio-based routines. These exercises cause microscopic tears to the muscle cells, which in turn are quickly repaired by the body to help the muscles regenerate and grow even stronger. Talk about getting those glorious guns! In addition to all that muscle build, these moves are important in maintaining body weight because the resistance exercises raise the body’s metabolic rate!

Why Is Resistance Training In R.I.P.P.E.D.?

So, why include resistance training in R.I.P.P.E.D. classes? We want to make sure that every single muscle group is targeted in each class. We’re not after just getting weight loss results, we want to build muscle and tone the body to make sure our community is their absolute healthiest. When we start with resistance training, our muscles will be working harder throughout the entire class!

Now that you know everything there is to know about resistance training, it’s time to take your knowledge to the gym! Our trainers and instructors are with you every step of the way during each class to make sure you get the best workout. Find a R.I.P.P.E.D. class near you today!
