Get to Know the R.I.P.P.E.D. January MVP: Debbi Mottern

R.I.P.P.E.D. Family, what’s going on! We wanted to shine some light on a very special member of our family, Debbi Mottern. If you haven’t heard the news by now, Debbi hold’s the very first MVP spot of 2018! If you haven’t had a chance to congratulate her yet, head over to our R.I.P.P.E.D. Facebook Page to give her a quick shout out.

Debbi has been with us since the fall of 2013 and it was love at first class. We sat down with Debbi to get to know how she was introduced to R.I.P.P.E.D. and how it’s shaped her fitness lifestyle.

Can you tell how excited Debbi is to teach RUMBLE?

R.I.P.P.E.D.: How were you introduced to your first class?

I had been hearing about R.I.P.P.E.D. online and read about it. Another local gym had one class on the schedule so I was nosey and went to it. I fell in love with it during that first class. I called my then group fitness coordinator and told her I wanted to bring it to The Wellness Center.

I immediately looked for a [R.I.P.P.E.D.]certification and found one in Knoxville, which is an hour & and a half away from home. I took one of my friends with me who also teaches group x and we got certified. We added it to our lineup and we’re still going strong.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: What do you love most about R.I.P.P.E.D.?

It has everything in a 50-55 minute class:Cardio, strength and kickboxing (my all-time favorite.) It’s fast-paced so you don’t have time to get bored. I can bring in all fitness levels and they can do it.

I love teaching R.I.P.P.E.D & RUMBLE. I love that when I went to RUMBLE training in Louisville, I got a big hug from BIG RED and Amy. They take the time to get to know everybody and truly have a passion and are genuine.

I also love the family that Terry & Tina have formed. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Terry & Tina yet (I want to so bad), but I feel as though we are long-time friends.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: What do your members say about R.I.P.P.E.D.?

My members love R.I.P.P.E.D. They wish we had more time on the schedule for it.   They love that we can mix it up. They all have their favorites and love telling me what they want to do in class.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: Will you be participating in the R.I.P.P.E.D. 2 Fit Challenge in February?

I’m planning on participating in the challenge in Feb. I started it the last time, but somehow just let myself get off of it. That is definitely one thing I need to work on. I’m hoping to start it in Feb. with my class and have them hold me accountable.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: Is there anything else you’d like to share with your R.I.P.P.E.D. Family?

I’m truly honored that Terry & Tina chose me as Jan. MVP. I never expected it. I just love to go to the gym and teach group X. I have made long lasting friendships at the gym and I love that we can all be on this journey together.

I look forward to more from R.I.P.P.E.D. & RUMBLE. I feel like it just gets better and better each time a new one comes out. I can’t wait for BOUT 2. I’M READY!!

Congrats again Debbi! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience teaching R.I.P.P.E.D. We’re so excited to cheer you on throughout our RIPPED 2 Fit Challenge starting February 1st!
