R.I.P.P.E.D. 2 Fit Challenge Winner: Cecilia (Cecy) Rodriguez

Hey, #RIPPEDFAMILY! It’s time for another celebration, and this time it’s all about one of our R.I.P.P.E.D. 2 Fit winners. Allow us to introduce Cecilia (Cecy) Rodriguez, who—along with our other participants—persevered through the six week R2F challenge and took another step towards living a healthy lifestyle.

Cecy took her first R.I.P.P.E.D. class six years but faced a few stumbles throughout her journey. When she first started she didn’t stick with it because, like many people, she remembers feeling like she couldn’t keep up. “Lack of motivation got the best of me,” she expressed to us. Lucky for us, we got her back five years later and she feels stronger and better than ever. She now takes at least three classes at her local YMCA in Valparaiso, Indiana. “Something “clicked” this time around and I could not be happier and more proud of myself!”

Read her interview below:

R.I.P.P.E.D.: Why did you choose to do the R.I.P.P.E.D. 2 Fit Challenge?

Cecy

After taking classes consistently since August 2016 and being mindful of what I ate, I had successfully lost about forty pounds by May of 2017. However, I had hit a hard plateau that I thought I just couldn’t get out of, so while keeping at it for a few more months and still not seeing any results I was on the verge of once again giving up. But just in time I heard the announcement of the R2F challenge and decided that this could be the thing that finally gets me out of my funk! And it did!!

R.I.P.P.E.D.: What was the most challenging aspect?

Cecy: By week two I remember having serious doubts about whether I could finish the challenge at all and if it was really even worth it to me. The cravings for sugar and headaches from being without where so real,

R.I.P.P.E.D.: What were your main motivators through the challenge?

Cecy: With the constant help and support from Amy and the rest of the challengers I somehow made it through. The R.I.P.P.E.D family and the challengers, in particular, were key to my success in the six-week challenge; I am still in awe that complete strangers would give up their time and shared experiences to help me.

R.I.P.P.E.D.: How do you feel about your results?

Cecy: I can honestly say that I had never felt better! I went down in weight and inches all around. But the old me was still letting the negativity outshine all the good that came from bettering myself and all the positive changes—inside and out. So I decided that I was happy and better off not submitting any videos at all. But luckily, with about twenty minutes to spare before the entry deadline and a slight talking to from my husband, I decided to record that one-minute video in my messy dining room while in my bright orange pajamas!

And we’re so glad you did Cecy! Send a big thank you to your husband from us for giving you the little nudge you needed to share your journey with us.

Stay tuned #RIPPEDFamily! We’ll be sharing interviews with our other two R.I.P.P.E.D. 2 Fit Winners, Elizabeth Young and Angel Chadwell in the upcoming weeks.
